We called our breeding programme ‚del Purgatorio’ because we started it in our house in Italy, which is called the casa Purgatorio, that is the purgatory house.
It is so called due to the Italian poet Dante Alighieri who wrote the purgatory part of his divine comedy in this house during the 13th century.
